Pacific Northwest Kiwanis Law Camp
The Washington Kiwanis Youth law Enforcement Career Camp is a joint effort by Kiwanians and the Washington State Patrol, together with other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. It provides selected high school juniors and seniors with a one-week experience that is oriented towards a program of the basic elements, responsibilities, and mechanics of the law enforcement system. Emphasis is placed on the role of the police officer in that system.
Applicants are charged a $50 non-refundable application fee. Once accepted for the camp, the student is responsible for contacting a local Kiwanis club and requesting a $600 camp scholarship. Not all Kiwanis clubs are able to provide this funding. Funding is also accepted from parents, other non profits, individuals and corporations. The camp is held for one week during July of each year at the WSP Training Academy in Shelton. For more information, check out the WSP website: www.WSP.wa.gov . Go to the OUTREACH tab, then the KIWANIS LAW CAMP section.
The Washington State Kiwanis Youth Law Enforcement Camp is a 501c3 tax exempt organization. Donations are always welcome and help to support the cost of student-cadets, the volunteer counselors and instructors. We are also a registered charity -#1478241 - through the COMBINED FUND DRIVE. Checks to support the camp and its activities can be sent to:
